Free converter for Indian bank e-statements — SBI, HDFC, ICICI, Kotak, Axis, PNB and Federal. Parsing runs entirely inside your browser: no server, no account, nothing stored. Every row is verified against the statement's own running balance, so you know the extraction is complete before you import it.

How to convert a bank statement PDF to Excel
Drop the PDF in, check the validation, export. There is no upload step and no queue, because the conversion happens on your own machine.
1 · Drop the PDF
Native e-statements downloaded from netbanking work today. Password-protected files are fine — enter the password when prompted and decryption also happens locally.
2 · Math-checked rows
A statement is self-checking: each balance must equal the previous balance plus credits minus debits. Rows that fail the check are flagged for review — a fully green table is provably complete. This is running-balance validation, and it is the reason the tool is called TieOut.
3 · Export
Excel, CSV, or Tally XML vouchers (Receipt/Payment with stable IDs, so re-imports don't duplicate). Nothing is written to a server at any point.
Supported banks
Every bank listed as verified has been checked against a real statement and passed the balance-chain test — it isn't just on a list. Each has its own page describing the layout quirks handled for it.

Bank statement to Tally XML
Export as Tally XML and the statement arrives in Tally Prime or Tally.ERP 9 as Receipt and Payment vouchers — no spreadsheet in between, no TDL, and stable voucher IDs so a re-import never duplicates.

Bank statement converter FAQs
Is it safe to upload a bank statement to an online converter?
Only if you know where the file goes. Almost every online bank statement converter uploads your PDF to its server to process it, which means account numbers, balances and every transaction leave your machine and sit in someone else’s storage under their retention policy. TieOut removes the question entirely: it never uploads the file. The PDF is parsed by JavaScript inside your own browser tab, so there is no server copy to retain, leak or subpoena.
How do I verify that my statement is not being uploaded?
Turn off your Wi-Fi and convert the statement anyway — it still works, because there is no server involved. You can also open your browser’s DevTools → Network tab while converting and watch that no request carries your file. That check takes ten seconds and is worth doing on any converter you use, not just this one.
Is it safe to upload bank statements to ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude?
Not for client data. Pasting a client’s bank statement into a general-purpose AI assistant sends it to a third-party server where retention and training-use depend on that provider’s settings and plan, and a professional handling someone else’s financial data usually cannot justify that disclosure. There is also an accuracy problem: language models transcribe numbers approximately, while a converter that validates the running balance can prove the extraction is complete.
Which Indian banks are supported?
SBI, HDFC, ICICI, Kotak, Axis, Federal and PNB native e-statements are supported today, plus HDFC ENet for corporate accounts. Support means the parser has been checked against an actual statement from that bank and passed the balance-chain validation, not just that the bank is listed — which is why the list is eight banks long and not a hundred. Each bank has its own page describing the layout quirks TieOut handles for it.
What is the password for my bank statement PDF?
It is set by your bank and stated in the email or SMS that delivered the statement — check that message first, because the rule differs by bank and by delivery channel. Common patterns are your date of birth as DDMMYYYY, or your customer ID in the case of HDFC. Enter it when TieOut prompts you; decryption happens locally in your browser, and the password is never transmitted.
Can I convert a scanned bank statement to Excel?
Not yet. Scanned or photographed statements are images and need OCR, which is being built as an optional step. Native PDF e-statements downloaded from netbanking work today, and they are also more accurate — the text is already in the file, so nothing has to be guessed from pixels.
What happens if the closing balance does not tie out?
The row that breaks the chain is flagged instead of being silently dropped. A bank statement is self-checking: every balance must equal the previous balance plus credits minus debits, so a fully green table is provable evidence that no transaction was missed. That check is why the tool is called TieOut — you find out before the data reaches your books, not during audit.
Is TieOut free?
Yes — converting statements to Excel, CSV and Tally XML is free today and needs no account or sign-up. There is no upload quota to meter, because there is no server doing the work.
